Our Dark Roast Colombia comes from the ASOPROKAN cooperative high in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range. Located in far northern Colombia, this cooperative was founded by the indigenous Kankuamo people, in an effort to establish programs to revitalize their community socio-economically as well as culturally. Founded in 2008, ASOPROKAN consists of roughly 150 families growing coffee on an average of three hectares of land per family. They are producing fully washed, patio dried coffee, from the Caturra and Typica varietals. This fantastic coffee lends itself well to both medium and dark roasts, but we especially love the rich Caramel and Cocoa flavor profile with hints of Orange, and the sweet, smooth finish that are brought out in this fantastic French Roast.
