Sumatra Takengon KKGO
We’re pleased to present our newest Sumatra offering: the Takengon KKGO. A series of family owned farms make up the Koperasi Kopi Gayo Organic, or KKGO cooperative.
The coffee is processed using the uniquely Indonesian method known as Giling Basah during which hulling (the process of removing the final layer or “parchment” above the bean itself) occurs at around 50% moisture content. This is opposed to most coffees from the rest of the coffee growing world which are hulled at 10-12% moisture content. This helps limit acidity and boost the body of the coffee into a classic Sumatra profile. They are then hand sorted to make sure that there are no defects in the beans. The result is an excellent Sumatra that's sure to please.
